Shawnee UMC LIMA - We were blessed to serve 186 families at this morning's Mobile Food Pantry- this means almost 600 individuals were able to put some extra food on the table & also get some much needed toiletries. We are extra grateful to the volunteers from Nutrien who provided turkeys and lent a helping hand!

At the Gigantes de Carolina Doble AA golf tournament at Palmas del Mar Golf Club in Humacao, Puerto Rico, I witnessed 85 separate acts of kindness unfold. As each golfer checked in, every single one donated to CODERI, an organization in Puerto Rico dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. It was incredible to see how the game of golf brought so many people together to support such an important cause.

Today, my husband, Keith had a heart doctor appointment in Lima. As we were waiting for his turn, a much older gentleman‘s name was called. He headed to the room with the nurse. I believe his name was Mike. My husband noticed his glasses was laying on the chair. He jumped up, grabs Mike’s glasses and took him back to him told her fellow was very much appreciated. He said I hate to lose these. Lol

My wife made Buckeyes for the Holidays. I had her made an extra dozen so I could share them with my "Go Blue" friends at work. I hand delivered them to my buddies and told them to enjoy them while they watched "the Game". Us Buckeye fans are a kind bunch.

I brought Thanksgiving food, including sides, turkey, ham, and a variety of desserts to a friend who is older, lives alone, and almost never gets a home cooked meal. He'll be eating good for a few days!

We were out of town at a restaurant doing some sight seeing. I was mentioning that my cell was about dead from using it for a GPS and I was worried that I couldn;t take videos and my charger was at the hotel. Our waitress overhead me and offered to take my phone and put it on her charger while we ate lunch. An hour later, I had plenty of juice to take pictures without having to go back to the hotel. I appreciate it, Marilyn !

We were having trouble locating a Peanut Butter Festival in Ft. Wayne. It had some vague directions on the Internet, so we went to a restaurant to ask directions from a "local". He was unaware of it, but took the time to look it up for us and research it. Very kind of him ! Much to our dismay, we found that we had the right day and address, but unfortunately, we had the wrong YEAR. So the 2nd act of kindness is that the guy did not poke fun at us and offered a couple of other suggestions for us to consider for the current date ! Thanks Kind Sir !

Bath HS Interact Club. Last night the students helped the Rotary Club of Lima with their Flip the Switch event. The kids dressed as Christmas characters, did face painting, and helped where needed for this big community event.

Today when I was leaving my daughter's house my car would not start so I used the AAA app for a battery test and jump. After waiting for 45 minutes I received a text from AAA that battery testing is no longer available in our area but a tow truck would be there shortly to jump the battery. When Rich from Big Daddy's Towing arrived he jump started my but he also had a battery tester that checked not only the battery other mechanical parts that could be causing the car not to start. Even though AAA no longer proved this service Rich did this test as an act of kindness - he even offered to follow me to make sure I made it safely to the service station. He definitely went above and beyond his job and truly did an act of kindness.

I reside in a high rise building. I wanted to help those affected with food insecurities. I knew I needed to get creative. At first, I started taping perishable food and snacks onto my front door. With a note that says to take what you need or want. The Everyone Deserves To Eat Donation Door has been I've upgraded to a metal over the door pantry organizer. I was about to put out 86 edible options and about 10 kids toys and pencils. I aspire to be a gift to my community as long as my supplie lasts. I a unemployed and disabled. I've been stocking up for months thinking of this idea and I'm so glad it's come to life. I'm using my own money and I'm really great at shopping deals. This is how I can help!

My wife noticed a few new kitties in our neighborhood and wanted to make sure they were okay. As soon as she got home, she brought them a bowl of food and water. It’s a small gesture, but now baby kitty doesn’t have to hunt lizards — just enjoy a little kindness.
