A student of the school I taught at lives across the street from us. She came over yesterday as a piece of my mail was accidentally delivered to her and she wanted to make sure I got it. We got to talking and she mentioned in passing that she works two jobs but got a couple months behind in her rent when her roommate moved out unexpectedly and was facing eviction. It blessed us to be able to give her the money for her rent. She was concerned about paying it back. We told her when she’s back on her feet to pay it forward. Many of us have been in similar situations and know how it feels to face such an uncertain future.
